At Lorna Jane, we acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Country on which we design and create, the
Turrbal people. We honour their deep and enduring connection to Country and culture, which is beautifully
reflected in weaving, art, and storytelling. We pay our respects to Elders past, present, and future.
Our commitment to empowering First Nations communities begins with deep listening—a practice that involves
truly hearing and understanding the voices and stories of Indigenous peoples. Our first goal on this journey
is to engage in meaningful conversations, acknowledging and celebrating key events on the First Nations
calendar. By recognising these significant moments and the rich cultural heritage they represent, we aim to
foster awareness, respect, and a deeper connection to the land and its people.
As we continue on this path, we are dedicated to collaborating with First Nations communities, learning from
their wisdom, and integrating these insights into our practices. Through Reconciliation, we seek to
contribute to a more sustainable and respectful fashion industry that honours and uplifts Indigenous voices
and traditions.
The Women’s Community Shelters are making a meaningful impact by providing safe and supportive spaces for
Indigenous women facing homelessness and domestic violence. Through our support, alongside the efforts of
many other great organisations, we help ensure that these essential services continue to empower First
Nations women, offering them the protection and resources they need to rebuild their lives with dignity and
respect.
